7:44 p.m. CST: By far the most impressive performance of the tournament! No. 1 Jake Patacsil is winning 14-0 to start the second and got taken down with a cement job to his back and stuck by Chase Nelson (Oklahoma). Never give up, kids.

In the results it says Chase won by fall in 5:21...wouldn't that put the match into the start of the 3rd period?

Found this on Kyle John courtesy of the Maryland website:

As a Sophomore (2009-10): NCAA qualifier at 157 pounds ... runner-up at the ACC Championship ... finished the season 29-13 with a 17-6 record in dual meets ... ranked as high as No. 19 by Intermat ... finished a perfect 4-0 in regular season ACC competition, including a win over No. 12 Thomas Scotton of North Carolina on Dec. 4 ... won six matches by major decision ... had three pin-falls ... won his first nine matches of the season.

As a Redshirt Freshman (2008-09): Worked way into starting role at 157 pounds in dual meets, winning several critical matches against ranked foes along the way ... finished 15-17 overall ... 9-10 in duals and 2-3 in ACC duals ... 5 wins by major decision ... decision against Navy's Joel Ahern was difference in victory against rival Midshipmen.

As a Freshman (2007-08): Redshirt Season.

Before Maryland: Finished sixth at the Pennsylvania State Championships ... two-time District 11 Champion ... two-time regional champion ... accumulated 130 wins for Bethlehem Catholic ... also starred for the football and track teams ... served as wrestling captain as a junior and senior ... Lehigh Valley Conference Scholar Athlete as a senior.

Caldwell won this match I think. He is still on the bracket. It should have read Caldwell won 3-2 TB! over Polz of Illinois

165 lbs.
#12 Conrad Polz (Illinois) D Tyler Caldwell (Oklahoma); 3-2 TB1

Caldwell has to wrestle Spangler to get to 3rd & 4th

Wow Chase Nelson! I don't know how many of you are familiar with the Midlands but this was once considered THE BEST folkstyle tourney in the country, even better than NCAA D1 tourney. It used to have a lot more post-grads wrestle in it but it is still, no doubt, in the top 5 toughest tourneys in the country...probably top 3. This is a serious accomplishment!

Caldwell came up big and came through the back door. I must have looked at last years brackets because I was confused with his results.

Congrats to Keller as well.

Check out the fall report. Chase was a few seconds shy of winning that too. DeShazer was right behind him at number 3.

In the past, the Big 10 network has played the finals live I believe? It's not on their schedule, nor their online schedule. Is there any video out there?
