Sign ups for the second semester training offered at Park Hill is this Thursday, June 2nd, 2011 from 6:15-8pm and Sunday, June 5th from 4:00-6:00pm. If wrestlers are interested in securing a spot but are unable to make either one of these dates please contact me directly so that I can reserve a place for them.

This is the second of three semesters of training throughout the Spring/Summer being offered by myself and other resident clinicians. The second semester will be approximately 6 weeks/10 sessions minimum. The first semester of successful training just concluded last week with wrestlers receiving two additional training sessions at no additional cost. This past weekend I took some of our first semester students to a high school training camp hosted by Overtime School of Wrestling in Naperville, IL. At the camp, our wrestlers not only got to compete with the nation's best wrestlers and learn top-level technique but we also go to watch simulated World Team Trial matches and training with many of the senior level wrestlers who will be competing at the trials in Oklahoma City next week.

In addition, coaches from the following colleges were in attendance watching the live sessions of the high school campers:
Drew Pariano - Northwestern
Tim Cysewski - Northwestern
Jake Herbert - Northwestern
Rob Eiter - Penn
Jim Heffernan- Illinois
Mark Perry - Illinois
Jay Robinson-Minnesota
Kevin Jackson-Iowa State
Jason Mester - Missouri

The second semester sessions will run every Thursday night from 6:15-8pm and also select Sundays. All sessions will be at Park Hill High School and is open to all peewee, youth and high school wrestlers with at least one year of experience and who have a current USA Competitor's Card. The training groups will be limited in number so that each wrestler receives individual focus and attention. The groups may also be broken up by experience level and specific training goals. Once the practice room is at capacity we will offer a waiting list for the third semester training. We did have several wrestlers who were placed on the waiting list for this semester. Wrestlers who were a part of a previous semester have an automatic spot in the next training semester if they chose.

Here is the tentative schedule (dates & times are subject to change):

Thursday, June 2nd 6:15-8pm
Sunday, June 5th 4:00-6:00pm

Thursday, June 9th 6:15-8pm
Sunday, June 12th 12:30-2:15pm

Thursday, June 16th 6:15-8pm
Sunday, June 19th 4:00-6:00pm (Father's Day)

Thursday, June 23rd 6:15-8pm
Sunday, June 26th 4:00-6:00pm

Thursday, June 30th 6:15-8pm
Sunday, June 3rd OFF (4th of July Weekend)

Thursday, July 7th 6:15-8pm
Sunday, July 10th 4:00-6:00pm

Thursday, July 14th 6:15-8PM

The cost will be $75 per semester (additional siblings will be $40 per semester). If you cannot make every session you can still sign up for the semester and attend those workouts that do not conflict with your schedule. One of the reasons we decided to structure practices this way is even if your wrestler misses a training session then he will be able to jump right into the next scheduled session without the worry of being left behind in the training cycle. If you would like to sign up for the Sunday only practices then the cost is $50 per semester (additional siblings will be $30 per semester). This is one of the most affordable advanced training opportunities being offered this Spring/Summer and participation will be capped so that individual focus is not lost. In addition, there will be more than just one clinician showing technique and working with the athletes.

Each practice will have a separate focus, however, there will be review throughout the training semester. This is also one of the reasons we kept costs down so that even if you miss a few sessions it is still well worth the money spent on this type of advanced training.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the training being offered or scheduled please do not hesitate to contact me.
