Above is the tentative list of this year's Schoolboy Dual team, as of noon, Sunday, 05/06. Thanks to all who attended GR/FS state, we have alot of good kids and the selections will be tough. We will try to have this done in the next week or two to allow you to plan for your summer. Please email or call me if your wrestler is interested in being selected. Should the kids not wrestle in the Folkstyle tourny on monday and go to the camp at St James sunday night after freestyle?

That is our preference, not to wrestle folkstyle at Southern Plains.

This is the updated list as of Sunday afternoon (05/20). As you can see, we have alot of numbers at the lower weights. We are contemplating taking two teams, on for GR and the other for FS, to allow more to participate.

Tom, could we add (find) another 128/136, 144, 190 and 265 and have 2 teams for each style instead of 1 team per style?
Did you see that Eckenbacherswartzendruber?

In that case why not have both teams wrestle both styles. Then the kids can get plenty of matches. I will help to volunteer to coach a team.

What are you short for sure? I have a 128/136 that could be talked into going if needed.

Clayton Peterson would go at 128 if you need one there.

Guys it would be great to take 2 teams if the star and tournament would allow it. I am not sure about the answers to those questions. However, before we go down that road we need to fill 1 team. According to the list above we still don't have a 152 or 210 for the first team.
Based on the weight classes, here s what we would need before we could start to think about 2 full teams....
1 additional wrestler for the following weights: 105, 136, 144, 190, and 265. 2 wrestlers for 152 and 210.
Personally I think it would be awesome if we had enough interest for 2 teams. I am not sure of the logistics that are already planned but it seems we could probably work through that. I defer to Tom for those answers.

We cannot do two teams for several reasons: budget, time constraints, etc.
We have 2X the number we need on the lower weights and 1/2 the number we need on the upper weights. This tournament is much different than Middle School Duals, or other dual tournaments, where you can throw together multiple teams informally. We registered a month ago and each team has a budget of over $10,000.

Parents- I just sent out an email to you all, from 77-128. If you did not get it please email me at wilgt@msn.com, so we can work this out today. We need to finalize so all can make plans and work out the budget.
Thanks, Tom Williams

How soon before you will have the teams selected and let people know so they can get transportation figured out and finances From what I have understood from Tom is that the final roster will not be set until the day before the group leaves on 6/6. So if you kids are in a weight that has a few in it already you may not know until the day before. The way I am understanding it is that the "camp" is more of a try out if they final roster is slated to be set the day before leaving. I am ok with that but why not say that?

Will somebody be talking to us or have paperwork etc.. at Southern Plains. I'd like more details on what is going on. 7 days is a long time to have my kid without much in the way of details. Do you need parents or chaperones etc.. I think I would like to go along to the tournament side of things.

Our written materials have been posted since March 15 on this talk forum. If you have any questions please read those. If you need to please call me or email me.
Three points:
1.We need parents to help at the camp, if available.
2. I have rooms reserved in Indy, if you want one by yourself let me know.
3. I do not need drivers, thanks there.

Could you detail out the camp information?
Start date, session times...etc
So those of from out of town can make travel plans.

my son is under 128 by a hair, but could wrestle 136 if needed. He prefers 128. Is there going to be a tryout? His name has been on the roster for weeks and is not listed now. Brian Bradley 128/136
