Turn on the track wrestling matrix so we can decide where to go. Is there a reason why some clubs do and some don't?

Do you mean for the list of entries?

If so the reason we didn't is typically nobody else does.

I think the reason for that is the 312 calls you get about my kid need to be here or there and the otehr 203 calls about moving kids to other weight to dodge kids.

It was bad enough on Friday night when we released ours that were already bracketed.

Call the clubs you want to see or are worried about and see where they are going.

If you have 2 tournaments the same distance apart, which one do you go to? The one that gives you the most matches, right?

My thoughts might be antiquated but I go to the one who supports our club's tournament first and foremost. If not applicable, then I support the tournament within our district.

There isn't any reason for the tournament directors to NOT post at least their matrix. Can someone give a valid reason as to WHY they shouldn't post the matrix, even the wrestler list??? If your'e "dodging", chances are your kid won't get any better. In Track Wrestling, it's an easy step to create/add the matrix and wrestler list. Also, what tournament director want's to get a call the week of the tournament?...

i beleive that it would stop the phone calls if they would post a matrix and a wrestler list. i believe that all tournaments that have track wrestling need to post, who cares if there is a scratch in a bracket if you already got paid for it so what.

I agree. Show what you got. I understand the dodging concept but as a tournament director you can choose to allow those type of changes or not.

Personally I think there are advantages to showing the matrix/list soon. Allows you to get mistakes found quickly as well as possibly getting more kids to come to your tournament. I get enough calls the week of the tournament and certainly don't want more but I'd rather get calls early in the week vs. the parents coming up the morning of the tournament.

Also, I've personally seen several times where a kid comes to specific tournaments knowing there is certain kid[s] that will be there they want to wrestle. I don't mind enabling that to happen as normally it makes both kids better.

I just want to be able to get on the matrix and figure out where to put my kid. If 73 has 10 kids and 76 only has 4 kids then its pretty easy to decide that 73 is a better bracket. I really don't like the idea of posting names. That is what causes all the dodging. Oklahoma stopped releasing entries for this reason. It used to be as soon as you entered them the name would show up. Then you would get 300 kids entering at 9:59 (one min before the deadline). Posting names is bad!!!!

I guess I didn't understand the difference in the Matrix vs. wrestler list.

I will have no probelm posting or releasing the list of the Matrix numbers, and will note that next year for Hutch/TLWC.

I still however don't agree with the releasing of the bracket groupings. For one they are preliminary most of the time and subject to change.

I fielded 20 calls Friday night up to midnight about our brackets that were released about 10pm and then 25 more Sat. morning. Sure I don't have to allow changes or dodging, but I still have to deal with the calls and listen to the we beat him and he should be there.

Granted that is part of a TD, but doing it when you have multiple (A,B,C) brackets is just cause for grief, IMO.

I think the mistake part is almost a thing of the past, with track sign up there are very few things that get missed. That was the huge advantage to Track is that any mistakes is the clubs fault and there were very very few. Espeacially this late in the year when they are all in Track already.

90 percent of the past mistakes were our own fault by doing it hand so to speak.

Just for the tournamanet out there who releases the bracket or wrestler list before Sat. morning?

Salina and I assume Joe does in Poala but those are the few that I know of.
