GREATER HEIGHTS YOUTH OFFSEASON TRAINING
Greater Heights Wrestling begins its youth offseason training this week and is open to all dedicated wrestlers, regardless of club or school affiliation, looking to train together in a system that has produced numerous champions at all levels of wrestling.
The semester series is one of a kind in that it provides multiple workout sessions in a given week which can be used either as a core or supplemental off-season training platform. Whether your wrestler is training one night a week or multiple nights they will improve exponentially in our system. Wrestlers are welcome to sign up at any of the scheduled workouts offered.
Unique to our youth offseason program is that we incorporate a Crosstraining element once to twice a week that will teach the fundamental Olympic lifts to build strength as well as an endurance component that will help build a more athletic and well-rounded wrestler.
The coaching staff at Greater Heights consists of State Champion Folkstyle coaches as well as MO & KS national team Freestyle and Greco-Roman coaches. Guest clinicians and coaches will also make their way into the room throughout the spring and summer semesters.
The program runs as follows:
The first training semester will run 6 weeks. The primary sessions will run every Monday from 6:00-7:45pm (Crosstraining 8-8:30pm), Thursdays 6-8pm, and Sundays 1:30-3:15pm (Crosstraining 3:30-4:00pm). Due to competitions and holidays, the schedule will be tweaked some but additional workout opportunities will be offered.
During the first semester practices will be Folkstyle, Freestyle and Greco Roman. We will introduce the Olympic styles of wrestling and techniques to the youth wrestlers and help prepare the Schoolboy and Cadet wrestlers for national dual teams, regional qualifiers and ultimately Fargo. We will also incorporate Folkstyle technique and positions on certain days/nights of the training semester.
All sessions will be Park Hill High School located at 7701 NW Barry Road, Kansas City, MO 64153 unless noted otherwise and are available to all youth and middle school wrestlers with at least one year of experience and who have a current USA Competitor's Card. If a wrestler needs to purchase a 2013-14 USA Card then our club can certainly assist with that process.

There is no additional cost for the Crosstraining during the first semester training. This is something we are offering as an introduction for those who have not experienced this type of training and as a financial saving to those who have committed to the Crosstraining program in the past.
