Bethany College announces Marvin Tischhauser as assistant wrestling coach for the Swedes.
Tischhauser, a native of Abilene, Kan., comes to Bethany from Marysville University of Saint Louis, where he recently graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in communication while competing as a member of the wrestling team. He was a 2014 Team Senior Captain, 2014 Senior Scholar Award winner (team award), and a 2013 starter.
"We are pleased to announce the addition of Coach Tischhauser to our wrestling staff," said Head Coach Cody Garcia. "Marv has grown up wrestling in this area with a tremendous amount of success at each level, and has developed a great understanding of the sport. He has wrestled for solid programs and has been coached by one of the best leaders in the country. His impact will be immediately felt as his passion, along with his educational and wrestling experience, will be great assets to this program moving forward and will serve the group well. We want to continue to surround these guys with great coaches and, more importantly, great people. I know Coach Tischhauser is an excellent fit for the program and we welcome him to the Swede Wrestling family!"
Tischhauser served as the Head Camp Clinician at the Abilene Summer Champ Camp in 2013, where he developed and instructed a two-day the two day camp, teaching the fundamentals and basics of wrestling. He was also an Assistant Camp Clinician at the Maryville Wrestling Summer League in 2012 and 2013, providing instruction and technique sessions for Saint Louis and the surrounding area wrestlers and teams. In addition, Tischhauser helped with two days of wrestling instruction at the Westminster Christian Academy in Saint Louis, Mo.
"It is a great honor to be an assistant wrestling coach at Bethany College," Tischhauser said. "I look forward to coaching with head coach Cody Garcia."
