Although both came up a little short, these were outstanding showings by a couple of Kansas products. Both of them won some good matches against tough competition. Tyler Caldwell was in the deepest weight class in the tournament, but a close 2-5 loss to David Taylor shows that he's right in the mix. Kendric Maple, coming off of a 2nd place finish at the US Open, was one takedown away from winning his bracket and earning a chance in a best-of-three series against Reece Humphrey to represent the US at the World Championships.

I expect to see great things from both of them in the future.
