Just want to congratulate Jacob Box on an amazing high school wrestling career that has not quite yet come to completion. Jacob is a guy that I caught in the halls as a freshman and was able to convince to come out for the sport of wrestling. He liked it so much his freshman year despite going 1-9 on varsity as a freshman that he joined the Ogden Outlaws after the HS season completed to gain some more mat time. He gained some experience that off season and then came back ready to go as a sophomore. Sophomore year he improved to 26-18 on varsity and qualified for 4A state going 2-2 at the 4A state tournament! As a junior, he made continued improvements to complete his junior year with a 41-6 record and became a 3-2-1A state qualifier at 182 lbs. Now a senior with a record of 32-2 only losses to BVSW #2 ranked Cordel Duhart at 220 lbs. and Ottawa's #3 ranked Blaine Ray at 195 lbs. Box now himself is ranked #2 in class 3-2-1A state at 195 lbs. I am proud to call myself his coach and announce that he has now reached the 100 career win mark while wrestling in his last dual of his wrestling career at home last night improving his career record to 100-35 (Win % - 74%). Jacob absolutely loves the sport of wrestling and plans to continue growing in the sport as a freshman in college next year.
