Interesting Breakdown of NCKL Individual StateChampions per team.

Concordia- 19
Clay Center-15
Abilene-11
Marysville-7
Wamego-4
Chapman-1

If you count Beloit before they got out of the NCKL, they had 35, and since leaving only have 1.

Thanks for the information. Stats are very interesting. You inspired me to do some quick research of my own on the MCL. I may have missed some, but here is my quick count of individual MCL state championships. If anybody out there has different information please correct me because I am sure I left out a few. Plus... if you think this is impressive you should look at the NWKL stats!!! Oberlin, Hoxie, St. Francis, Colby, are all very impressive as well as the others.

Norton (69)
Plainville (16)
Phillipsburg (14)
Wakeeney (9)
Stockton (9)
Hill City (7)
Osborne (6)
Ellis (2)
Smith Center (1)

Here are the NWKL results:
State Champions per team

Atwood (31)
Colby (49)
Goodland (50)
Hoxie (55)
Oberlin (81)
Oakley (36)
Quinter (0)
St. Francis (101)

In addition, Norton (69) and Scott City (16) have both been in the NWKL at different times.
Is there another league that has had more champions??

Thanks for doing the research Mitch. I knew it was a lot, but I had no idea it was that many. I can't imagine any league having more.

Eric Johnson became Norton's 70th state Champion in 2001. But you were very close Curt.

OK to all of you statisticians, Which active coach has coached the most individual state champions. Originally, I figured it would be in 5 or 6A where there are half as many schools, which would double the odds. Although, Ark City, Emporia, Garden City all have coaches who are limited in years. I now think it is probably someone in 3A. I took a look at 3A but am not certain just when Gabel for instance started. Has any active coach coached more thsn 24 individual champions?

Gable's first season was 75. I counted 33 Ind. State Champions he has coached.

Gabel sure has coached a lot of them. 7 state Titles were won by his sons and 5 of them were won by the Jenkins boys.
That is an amazing 12 state titles between the two families.
