Danny called me last night and told me that Aaron Meister’s father, Doug Meister - Holton, KS, passed away from a massive heart attack on Friday.

Aaron (Doug's son) was a wrestler for Ft. Hays State Univ. this past year and has helped coached the SchoolBoy Dual Team. He has also been involved with several wrestling camps around the State. Douglas Adrian Meister, 47, Holton, died Aug. 18, 2006, at a Topeka hospital. He was born Sept. 5, 1958 in Syracuse, N.Y., the son of Adrian Lewis and Edna L. Mason Meister. He attended school in Baldwinsville, N.Y. Mr. Meister was currently working as a truck driver for Hunt Transportation of Omaha, Neb. He had previously worked as an oil rig operator for BNS Well Service in Winfield and as a truck driver for CTS of Wichita. He had lived in Holton for the past 20 years and previously lived in Winfield. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Holton. He also was a member of the Jackson County Wrestling Club. He married Sandra L. Smith on Nov. 21, 1980, in Winfield. She survives. Other survivors include his parents; Adrian Lewis Meister, Tully, N.Y., and Edna Clark, Palmyra, Va.; a daughter, Shannacy Schimmel, Holton; a son, Aaron Meister, Holton; a sister, Marcine McBride, in New York; two brothers, Steve Meister, Acton, Mass., and Randy Meister, Boalsberg, Pa.; and three grandsons, Kegan, Chase and Zachary. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 23 at First Baptist Church in Holton. Burial will be in Holton Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 22 at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, sent in care of Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
