I have to say that those of you, who missed FS/GR State at Junction City, missed a great tourney.

First, the Junction City group, led by Ben Bennett (who I am glad to see back) did a great job with this tourney.

Next, the level of competition for most brackets was outstanding! For those of you who feel wrestling is a "winter" sport only, you are missing out.

Matthew Bailes and Marvio Tischhauser waged two incredible bouts. Josh Baldridge and Blayze Bahe did the same. Danny Grater looked to be in peak form. In freestyle, Neil Erisman completely dominated a bracket that had Daniel Prater in it. Tristen DeShazer lost in Greco to Grant Baker but beat Jeb Woodford to win freestyle. Larry Perez was very impressive in winning both styles.

Ross Taplin won, as did Neil Cisper, Justin Wiscombe and Ryan Sponsel. They all had a few battles on their hands.

Future stars; Sharky Slyter, Bo Pursel, Chris Strimple, and Aaron Seybold have got things figured out. So do Daniel DeShazer and Taylor Moeder, who battled each other twice with a different winner each time. They have figured out, that one way to make sure your future is bright … is to compete in summer wrestling!

Summer Warriors make Winter Champions! It is more that just a cute saying.

Are you making a POSITIVE difference in the life of kids?

I have to agree. It was great to get more kids from central and western Kansas with the location change. It was actually twice as far for my family to go but it was worth it. It will only get better from the administration part as well.

Great competition. As a parent of a younger kid as well, there were some great older kids to emulate.

Yea sounds like a party! Sorry I missed it!

Bad thing was I didn't even get to shoot no guns. They were letting people drive the ship though. I passed I didn't want to end up like Gilligan and do a 3 hour tour.

Say guys I need a 171 pounder for Cadet duals give me some suggestions and I'm hunting for Edison's email and telephone number? That boy's a manchild and we could use him.

Also for the silver team we need:
135
145
152
171
189
215

I'm going to try and make it over to Southern Plains on Saturday. But, would appreciate any leads or ideas.
Man, I missed the real Kansas State Championships the first time since 1989, I still can't believe it!
I'll check this daily but you can also email me at Raslion1@aol.com

Thanks,
Coach Peterman
