Coach Ed,
This is Sean Flynn, Nick Flynn's older brother. You listed Nick at 119lbs as "Sam" Flynn. Please change "Sam" Flynn to "Nick" Flynn in future postings.
Thanks,
Sean

First off, I am sorry Sean I was told that your brother's name was Sam. I changed the old posts and I will change the name in the future.
Second, Kansas has suffered their second loss to Missouri, but the dual was still close and was filled with very bias calls towards Missouri. However, if we can beat Michigan and Texas, then we can still go to the 3rd place medal round.

Kansas vs. Texas
Kansas wins 46-24
Weight Wrestlers Team Score 84 lbs. Chaz Lawrence W(11-1) 4-1 91 lbs. Nathan McCormick L(1-11) 5-5 98 lbs. Connor McCarthy W(4-0) 5-8 105 lbs. Nathan Furches L(Fall) 5-12 112 lbs. Aaron Ely W(12-2) 9-13 119 lbs. Nick Peterson W(3-3 Ref. Dec.) 12-14 125 lbs. Adam Almaguer W(4-2) 15-15 130 lbs. Brent Fisher W(11-0) 19-15 135 lbs. Aldon Isenberg L(0-10) 19-19 140 lbs. Derek Koehn W(15-4) 23-20 145 lbs. Scott Elliot W(8-4) 26-21 152 lbs. Ryan Patterson W(fall) 30-21 160 lbs. Aaron Berscheidt W(10-0) 34-21 171 lbs. Gabe Mason W(fall) 38-21 189 lbs. T.J. Hawkins L(10-12) 39-24 215 lbs. Atticus Disney W(12-0) 43-24 275 lbs. Stephen Andrus W(5-0) 46-24
Kansas dominated Texas in the last dual by a score of 46-24 to enter the 5th/6th place medal matches. The team finally got a fire lit beneath them with the Technical Fall from Derek Koehn over the Texas All-American Luke Ashmore by a score of 15-4. He started the match off right with a nice three point and went into the second period with a score of 3-3. In the second period Koehn got a body-lock around Ashmore and threw him for 5 POINTS, then lifted him again for 3 and 1 and then initiated a flurry of gutwrenches to come out with a Technical Superiority. This pivotal match was just the start of something good.
The rest of the team went on to a series of falls and major decisions to make a comeback and annihilate the Texas team. Also worth mentioning was beautiful 5 and 1 point throw by T.J. Hawkins, although he did not come out with the victory he did pump up the crowd and get his first 5 point throw at a national tournament.
Speaking of crowds, any of you in the Kansas City or N. Kansas area should come and make the kansas crowd even bigger. The team needs all the help they can get going up against the Minnesota Sith team, which have already defeated us. Hopefully, our morale is up from the last time they met.

Please tell Team Kansas congratulations from me and thank you for the updates, I really appreciate them. Let the boys know that even though many of us can't make it there, we are still following them (this is the fifth time I have checked for results today) and are very proud of their accomplishment. Also, would you give Nick Peterson a congrats hug from me and tell him I said "WAY TO BRING THE PAIN"!!!!

Super Job by the Kansa Warriors in Greco! The Cadets stepped up to the challenge and avenged a loss. This is the sign of true character!
Kevin Callahan had a stunning victory is his bout. He was trailing 1-9 to what appeared to be a superior athlete from Minnesota. But a thrower always has a chance. Kevin threw a head-and-arm and a second later had the press fall.
Also of note was the overtime victory by Steve Andrus. At the end of regulation the score was 0-2 in favor of Minnesota. Overtime started in the clinch where Steve was comfortable. A nice 3-point throw and the bout was over. Perhaps this victory will seal his fate in the R.A.O.S..

Awesome showing Kansas and awesome showing Kansas CROWD! What great parent/fan support! We far outnumbered most all of the state's fan groups by far. After two tough morning losses, the "Kansa Warriors" bounced back for some exciting wins over Texas and Minnesota (the #1 seed) to finish in a respectable fifth place out of 24 teams.
Good luck in freestyle....and any fans nearby, don't miss out. The Cadet Duals are the best show in town! The KCI Expo Center is just off of I-29 and is a great facility for this tournament.
Coaches Peterman, Medina, Thompson, and Hermreck are doing a great job!
GO KANSAS!
