I am up at the practice and I have my laptop. I am at Panera right now on the net. If we can find wifi we can do it ourselves. Let me know.

Ms. Jenni

Team Kansas is arriving and looks good and is working hard. I already slapped Little Furches for you.

Jenni. I forgot you guys would be gone. Jarrett had a good time I think wrestling with us old men. They told him to come in more often. They also said he seems like a good kid.

Anybody know when the KS Cadets first dual will be today? Is there a schedule posted for specific match-ups?

The Kansas Cadet Greco Team has a Dual record of 3-0 and is now wrestling the Pennsylvania Second Team. A victory tonight over PA should put us into the medal round. Since this PA team has already been beaten by Ohio, then hopefully Kansas can prevail over PA as well.

Kansas came out on top, but for a little while it was iffy. The upper wieghts stepped up to the challenge and delivered in full. Up next Kansas has the #1 Minnesota Team, but you never know anything can happen. I will be sure to post the results as soon as the dual is over, so be sure to see how our Kansa Warriors come out in the end.

Once again Kansas continues its on going tradition of placing in the top eight in the nation at the Cadet Greco Duals.

At the end of the first day, Kansas finally suffered their first loss of the tournament. On the plus side, the loss came by way of the #1 ranked team in the entire tournament. With a second place finish in the pool and a trip to the medal rounds once again, hopefully tomorrow will be as successful as this one.

Coach Ed,

This is Sean Flynn, Nick Flynn's older brother. You listed Nick at 119lbs as "Sam" Flynn. Please change "Sam" Flynn to "Nick" Flynn in future postings.

Thanks,

Sean

First off, I am sorry Sean I was told that your brother's name was Sam. I changed the old posts and I will change the name in the future.

Second, Kansas has suffered their second loss to Missouri, but the dual was still close and was filled with very bias calls towards Missouri. However, if we can beat Michigan and Texas, then we can still go to the 3rd place medal round.

Kansas vs. Texas

Kansas wins 46-24

Weight Wrestlers Team Score
84 lbs. Chaz Lawrence W(11-1) 4-1
91 lbs. Nathan McCormick L(1-11) 5-5
98 lbs. Connor McCarthy W(4-0) 5-8
105 lbs. Nathan Furches L(Fall) 5-12
112 lbs. Aaron Ely W(12-2) 9-13
119 lbs. Nick Peterson W(3-3 Ref. Dec.) 12-14
125 lbs. Adam Almaguer W(4-2) 15-15
130 lbs. Brent Fisher W(11-0) 19-15
135 lbs. Aldon Isenberg L(0-10) 19-19
140 lbs. Derek Koehn W(15-4) 23-20
145 lbs. Scott Elliot W(8-4) 26-21
152 lbs. Ryan Patterson W(fall) 30-21
160 lbs. Aaron Berscheidt W(10-0) 34-21
171 lbs. Gabe Mason W(fall) 38-21
189 lbs. T.J. Hawkins L(10-12) 39-24
215 lbs. Atticus Disney W(12-0) 43-24
275 lbs. Stephen Andrus W(5-0) 46-24

Kansas dominated Texas in the last dual by a score of 46-24 to enter the 5th/6th place medal matches.
The team finally got a fire lit beneath them with the Technical Fall from Derek Koehn over the Texas All-American Luke Ashmore by a score of 15-4. He started the match off right with a nice three point and went into the second period with a score of 3-3. In the second period Koehn got a body-lock around Ashmore and threw him for 5 POINTS, then lifted him again for 3 and 1 and then initiated a flurry of gutwrenches to come out with a Technical Superiority. This pivotal match was just the start of something good.

The rest of the team went on to a series of falls and major decisions to make a comeback and annihilate the Texas team. Also worth mentioning was beautiful 5 and 1 point throw by T.J. Hawkins, although he did not come out with the victory he did pump up the crowd and get his first 5 point throw at a national tournament.

Speaking of crowds, any of you in the Kansas City or N. Kansas area should come and make the kansas crowd even bigger. The team needs all the help they can get going up against the Minnesota Sith team, which have already defeated us. Hopefully, our morale is up from the last time they met.

Please tell Team Kansas congratulations from me and thank you for the updates, I really appreciate them. Let the boys know that even though many of us can't make it there, we are still following them (this is the fifth time I have checked for results today) and are very proud of their accomplishment. Also, would you give Nick Peterson a congrats hug from me and tell him I said "WAY TO BRING THE PAIN"!!!!

Super Job by the Kansa Warriors in Greco! The Cadets stepped up to the challenge and avenged a loss. This is the sign of true character!

Kevin Callahan had a stunning victory is his bout. He was trailing 1-9 to what appeared to be a superior athlete from Minnesota. But a thrower always has a chance. Kevin threw a head-and-arm and a second later had the press fall.

Also of note was the overtime victory by Steve Andrus. At the end of regulation the score was 0-2 in favor of Minnesota. Overtime started in the clinch where Steve was comfortable. A nice 3-point throw and the bout was over. Perhaps this victory will seal his fate in the R.A.O.S..

Awesome showing Kansas and awesome showing Kansas CROWD! What great parent/fan support! We far outnumbered most all of the state's fan groups by far. After two tough morning losses, the "Kansa Warriors" bounced back for some exciting wins over Texas and Minnesota (the #1 seed) to finish in a respectable fifth place out of 24 teams.

Good luck in freestyle....and any fans nearby, don't miss out. The Cadet Duals are the best show in town! The KCI Expo Center is just off of I-29 and is a great facility for this tournament.

Coaches Peterman, Medina, Thompson, and Hermreck are doing a great job!

GO KANSAS!

With Freestyle under way, the Kansa Warriors got off to a good start with a 2-0 dual record. While, the Kansas Braves did not have such good luck, this was also our second team who did not have a full roster. The Braves also went up against the same team that placed 4th in the Greco Duals, so hopefully there is still hope for both teams.

I know I'm not the only person checking this site for periodic updates on the action at the Cadet Duals in Kansas City. Thanks to the Edison family for providing the match updates.

I had the good fortune of driving to the tournament Sunday afternoon and I can report that our young men were impressive. They wrestled hard against some exceptional opponents and they showed good sportsmanship - despite some officiating that still has me wondering how referees are selected for such elite events.

My hat is off to the coaches, wrestlers, and loyal Kansas fans who are representing USA Wrestling-Kansas at this event. If you can, sneak away today and cheer on Team Kansas. It's been a long weekend of wrestling and a vocal and supportive crowd would be appreciated.

Team Kansas is now finished at the duals. The Warriors and The Braves fought valiantly. The Braves had a great win this am. We got a little behind on The Braves but we will try to catch up on them on the way home. Thanks for all the support. Now the Edison's are off to the Junior Duals in Enid, OK.

Both were Isenberg and both were for unsportsman like conduct, but don't start in about it because the other wrestler was also unsportsman like but the official did nothing. Many of the officials were very happy to take away points from our KS boys and look the other way for others.

Dont worry ms Jenni its alright just to get it out in the open

well against the oklahoma kid, after the match he still had a hold of my leg and i was pretty angry and whatnot so i tried to yank my leg out of his arms and it just so happened my knee hit him in the face. the second time they said i hit the kid in the ribs after the match when i clearly did not, but oh well, i just need to keep my cool like the coaches said

Let's not even start about the ref's there was also at least one fan that was threatened with ejection but I don't know who that was.

Also Aldon thanks for the explanation, gives you some respect in my book.

MO Bulls wins the Cadet National Championship defeating MN 38-33

Mike Furches nice talking to you again. Since your son is going to HS this upcoming season, I guess it'll be awhile before I see you around. Take care and good luck at Fargo.

Jason, you are a great guy, wish I could have seen the finals. Would have loved for it to have been MO and Oklahoma but the win shows the quality of the team. Those missing the duals, missed something special. You can see and experience that thought this week at Enid with the Juniors. Anyone from Wichita wanting to go down for a day, let me know, will make room for you.

I would like to say Congratulations to all the Kansas wrestlers! Kansas is proud of all of you.

As for Aldon Isenberg, we have known him for quite a few years. My son has been on the same team and coached by Aldon's dad. I have never seen him to anything unsportsman like. He is a VERY talented wrestler that has alot of respect in my book. Congratulations Aldon, you did great last week!!!

Ok that should be all the results. 9 rounds of Greco and 7 rounds each for the Warriors and the Braves. Wow, what a great 4 days of wrestling. I am sure that Enid will be just as exciting. It sounds like we have a good team for Greco in Juniors. I will try to give updates from there as well. Good Night!

Ms. Jenni

P.S. I have always loved watching Aldon and I know he is a good boy and a great wrestler. I have been watching him since I first worked a table when he was a young boy. Looking forward to watching him at Fargo.
