Mike, ( & others )

*** caution, not for the animal lovers***

When Eric and I were at Iowa State, the wrestlers had a traditional Hog Roast at the end of the season . A booster , who was a farmer, would donate the Hog...well, the only catch was, the 2-3 guys who would go to get the Hog had to kill it ! And the farmer would have a few buddies around and get a big laugh out of these wrestlers 'trying' to kill the hog...he would provide them w/ things like a sledge-hammer ! Thank God, we didn't have You-Tube back then !!! made me sad...poor piggy!

Steph...

Who were the 2-3 Iowa State guys? This sounds entertaining.

"Entertaining!??" Swayz I would have posted the video about what this is like but Curtis and I couldn't have imagined what type of response we would have gotten for doing it if we had. I would say the pig butchering is not very entertaining. We did find out last night that Cole Caylor is certainly up for it though.

well......back when we were there, let's just say I knew one of the guys very well .... I don't think the Hog Roast happens like that anymore...I think the Booster just donates the meat already butchered.
...and I agree w/ Mike....it was more sad/gross than entertaining, but the group of farmers sure did get a kick out of it !....
...there was a video, and I could not eat that poor piggy!

oh, the good 'ol days !
