3. Age of as September 1 (Current age group)
• The Executive Council recommends staying with the current age group as of September 1.
D. Change the highest age group to 14 and under which includes the maximum grade attained to be the 8th grade.
• The Executive Council rejected this proposed by a vote of 11-1.
E. Proposal that the 16 and under would not wrestle at sub districts. They would be seeded at their sub-district meeting to wrestle against the other half of the district.
• The Executive Council voted not to recommend this motion by a vote 12 - 0, with 1 abstaining.
F. Add 6 and Under to the Qualifying Tournament / State Tournament.
Executive Council Action:
• A motion was made not to add 6 and under age group at the Qualifying/State Tournaments. The motion ended in a tie 7-7
• After the tie, another motion was made to add 5-6 and under age group to the State Qualifying Tournaments and State Tournament and with changing the wording 8 and under to 7-8 year olds. A vote was taken 7 for - 6 against -1 abstaining.
Clarification: If we allow 6 and under, they will have to wrestle in their own age groups. Wrestlers will also have to be 5-6 year olds (no 4-year olds or younger).
