There has been updates on several weights. The true test will be after the first week in Jan. there are alot of 6A schools wrestling at the same tournaments and the duals start getting more intense.

Can you copy the rankings for us? I don't have the link. It's probably me, But to get the list I have to go one weight and place at a time ... Blessings Jayhawkster

Brock Heithaus at 285lbs is a freshman and didn't place at high school state last year. You have him listed as a senior and as a returning placer.

you need to get your information out to all the coaches to get good up-todate rankings. This coach has never recieved any information from you. You might try to find everyones email address so you can do it correctly. coach1st@yahoo.com

In defense of Wrestling 67, I have seen a lot of requests for information, and information posted on these forums. Personally, I think they are doing a great job. It is a volunteer position and his email is easier to find than all of the other coaches, you could also send him a pm regarding information.

As has been stated many times before, rankings is a thankless job, thanks to all doing it, and wrestling67, you and the others are doing a great job this year.

I want to again thank all the coaches that have sent in the information to me. I have sent emails, letters and even called every coach and school. Not every coach returned any of the above, in fact a total of 6 schools never sent anything in. I would also like to state that 2 of those schools said that their wrestlers did not desrve any rankings, and they wish not to participate in the rankings. If you have not recieved anything I would definately ask the office why your mail is not being disributed to you box. The second half of the season starts this week, I personally would like to see more of the coaches submit the dual and tournament results to the website and if you have a wrestler that is doing well, submit the information. Again thank you to all the coaches that did send in information.

Mel

If you really are a coach and you truly are interested in getting information about rankings, why would you call out the ranker and demand information using a completely anonymous post? That seems fairly unprofessional to me, for a coach that is and not the correct approach.

My $.02 on rankings... I listen to High School coaches around the state talk about their team like it is a poker hand. Some coaches think that rankings are putting a target on their kid(s). Others don't want any other teams to know who is wrestling what weight. It seems ridiculous to me. All coaches should be required to submit their varsity roster, their records, and possibly every opponent and score. Wrestlers like being ranked as it provides incentive to get to the top or to stay there if you have gotten there. Our sport needs the publicity and support from the interest developed by legitimate rankings. Honestly, there is not one valid excuse not to provide this information to the wrestling fans and wrestling community. I guess I am calling out all coaches who don't agree. They are damaging OUR sport.

Will great post, as a former HS coach, I can tell you while most coaches fulfill their responsibility, some don't. I always felt it was my responsibility as a coach to do a variety of things; one was to get the most out of my student in the classroom and their respective sport within the rules. The other, was to do everything possible to help them accomplish their dreams, including participation at the next level if that was their desire. For those that don't say rankings are important to that goal, they are wrong.

A coach has as much of a responsibility to the athlete as they do the team. I firmly believe, when a kid sees a coach standing up for them, they will see that kid start standing up for the coach, and ultimately the school and team.

Anyone critical of wrestling67 or any other ranker this year, just don’t know what all of these individuals are doing. I for one say thanks and keep up the great work.

I totally agree with Will and Mike. Rankings are great for the sport. They are a powerful motivator and an encouragement for a job well done. I applaud those that put in the time to make them as accurate as possible. Sure there will be mistakes, but the coaches shouldn't be part of the problem by not bothering to take the time to promote their kids. Our sport is better off with actively monitered rankings. If you've ever seen how a kid lights up when he sees himself ranked, you know it's worth it.
