Ok, as sad as it is...we only have two KS girls competing in Fargo this year. This is quite disappointing and we put in a significant amount of time trying to get additional girls to be able to go but with numerous injuries, family problems and financial problems...it was just not to be.
Krista Revelle is a Freshman at Topeka-Jefferson West and she will likely wrestle at 139. She has been tearing up the national tourneys and she should do well this year in Fargo.
Samantha Lynch is an in coming Senior at Royal Valley HS and she is a seasoned Kansas Krusaders. This is not her first rodeo at Fargo and she is hungry to do well. She will wrestle 124 I believe.
We do have to girls from VA that have signed over to compete with Team Kansas again this year. Kayla Bartosch will wrestle 132 and Tatiana Perez will wrestle 108. Both are tough wrestlers and look to do well also.
Brooke Bogren will be traveling up to Fargo tomorrow for the girls to start their camp at Jamestown University on Tuesday. Brooke is a decorated College Wrestler and will do good with these girls this week.
We will be working with two of Canada's National Teams and some other Fargo Competetors at the camp. Looks to be an excellent camp. We are excited.
For all the naysayers...never fear Kansas Womens Wrestling is not dying...we are just experiencing a down year. Ed and I were adding up the new incoming HSers that we will have next year and the ones that will be back into competition hopefully next year and it looks like we should have around 25 HS girl wrestlers that are active in FS. If we can get them out and keep them out, we will be back up on top again next year.
We will give more updates as we have them. Thanks for paying attention and we will try to do you proud with the few good women we have.
Ms. Jenni
